Digital Solar Operators identify hosts, installs solar and manages the plant for its entire tenure. They integrate the solar systems with the technology stack developed by SundayGrids for users to reserve from their projects to offset their power bills.

Why distributed operators instead of a single developer?

Solar Operators have a local presence to where the systems are deployed and have a direct line of relation with the Hosts, which is greatly valuable in troubleshooting and more immediate resolution which is critical for smooth plant operations.

Furthermore, since they manage the plant’s day-to-day operations, they also absorb a lot more operational variability (from plant upkeep, meter readings, payment collection and credit dispatches) enabling users to continue getting significant savings from solar all the while lowering the attached risks through secured generation guarantees and credit buffers in case of defaults.

With Operator-Managed Projects, we can provide a distributed model for Digital Solar which makes managing system more reliable and robust when compared to centralised approach.

As a service provider to both operators (to integrate systems) and to users (for billing and transactions), we take much deliberation in deciding the kind of operators we open up to participate with. A few of the markers we look into them;

You can find more about the operators in ‘Operator Spotlight’ in the highlight carousel in project details page

As guardrails we also ensure they agree to certain criteria such as;
